Andalusians because they are very brave and noble horses. They were the most popular mount for kings. They have beautiful arched necks and are very majestic and intelligent. They have long, flowing manes and tails and are generally very well-tempered.

Welsh ponies, because they are champions in and out of the show ring and they will offer years of loving friendship.

I really like Percherons because I like large horses with alot of muscle. They are so huge and powerful...and yet, they are so gentle! I have yet to meet a Percheron that isn't gentle!

Connemaras and Connemara half breds! This is truly a breed that can do it all! They have great bone, substance, brains, disposition, and remarkable athletic ability. They can go to an A rated show one day and win and the next day go on a quiet trail ride with your 5 year old child! This is the greatest breed on the planet!

I like Friesians. They are so beautiful and graceful. I love dressage and they are like the number one dressage horse. The only thing about them is that they are so expencive.

I am an equal opportunity horse lover! I love a good horse whatever the breed.

MFT, this is the only breed I've had experience with. I like the smooth ride and versatility of the many gaits. My Foxtrotters are all very gentle and willing to please.
Posted By: Todd

Welsh ponies, because they are all-around stars. In our time together, my pony has carried me to A-circuit championships, taken care of me on endurance rides and foxhunts, been a loyal, willing partner, and stayed sound the whole time. Plus, welsh ponies are inexpensive and easy to keep.

I love Appaloosa's and some Arabian's. I owned an Appy mare that I could ride bareback with a rope around her neck.
Posted By: Linda
|
FRIESIANS-Because of their beautiful blue-black coat and the way they move is just pure beauty! They're all unique in their own way!!
Posted By: Laura Lovehorsesalot

MFT are smooth surefooted fun trail horses. Arabians are intelligent, beautiful and can do anything! Love them all!

I am a convert to the Standardbred breed! Not only is this breed the fastest harness racehorse, but their calm, laid back attitudes, good work ethic and generally gentle temperament make them excellent pleasure and show horses, whether riding or driving. My Standardbred mare was raced trained and now is a hunter.
Posted By: Anne

Andalusians....They are like driving a Cadillac. I always had Arabians before which are the sports cars of the horse world. At this age, I enjoy the Cadillac much more.
Posted By: Carla

I absolutely love Quarter Horses. They are so kind...considerate...and can do just about anything and do it well. I haved owned them for over 28 years hope to own them another 50.
Posted By: Wendy

Appaloosas...because you turn heads wherever you go and they are smart enough to keep you on your toes!
Posted By: Amber

Percherons-I have worked with them for many years now, and have fallen in love with them. They are hard working, and kind. They also have a lot of heart, and a personality all their own.
Posted By: Erin

I love Quarter Horses, their very smooth, kind, gentle and can just get up and GO..and fast. They can also do literally anything. I do reining, hunters, pleasure, equitation and jumpers with QH's..I love them!!

All though I like a horse good horse of any breed, but I have to say I am partial to the American Saddlebred. They are so talented, and have the greatest personality in the world. They are so cooperative. Saddlebreds look excited and they are but at the same time they are very sensible. I love them!
Posted By: Wynn

I like all the breeds, but one of my favorites are the Arabian. They are so graceful and courageous. I also like Paints, Saddlebreds, and Quarter Horses.
Posted By: Harmony

I love the Icelandic horse. They are fun,practical,multi-talented,gaited,don't eat much/don't poop much. They come in all colors and are beautiful to boot.
Posted By: Karen
|
I love all horses, but Ive really started to like Icelandics. They come in a wide range of colors, have good temperments, etc, etc, etc. They are very addictive, cant just have one!
Posted By: D. Curtis

A like Quarter Horse crosses because a Quarter Horse crossed with any other breed is a wonderful show animal friend and pleasure horse.
Posted By: Marie & Cherokee's Tin Cat & Gotta Lotta Class

ICELANDIC HORSES!!! They are absolutely fantastic! They are not only great riding horses, but they are great friends too! They are just GREAT!
Posted By: Brianne
|
Arabians--They're so loyal, and graceful, and aslo full of spirit! I thnk they're one of the most beautiful breeds.
Posted By: Elisha
|
Arabians of course, they're so graceful and have that presence that is lacking in so many other breeds. They're pretty too!!
Posted By: Rachel
|
All horses, but especially quarter horses, because they're good for just about everything, draft horses (Percherons and Belgians, as well as Shires), just because, Thoroughbred because...well, I'm not sure. But my all-time fave? Grade horses. They'll make you the best first horse; they're generally inexpensive, and can be great horses. (Of course, this varies). Otherwise, any or all horses.
Posted By: Laura
|
Quarter horse, or quarter horse mixes. Quarter horses have such a level head. Of course there are some exceptions, but I'm out at a farm with over 50 quarter horses, or quarter mixes and wouldn't think of taking anything else half the places I take my Appendix quarter horse. He goes everywhere, The only time he gets excited is when we enter the show pen. Even at the show he keeps a level head and always listens.
Posted By: anonymous

My favorite breed is the Arabian. I own one and he is surefooted and a beautiful dressage horse and hunter jumper. They also have good attitudes towards humans and are nice-looking. The reasons why they are so great are endless!
Posted By: Katie and my horse Cody!

Having hit the over 50 and aching age bracket, I've fallen in love with Spotted Saddle Horses. Not only are they gorgeous but that super smooth"glide ride" makes a day in the saddle fun again!
Posted By: Laura Lee

Arabians are my favorite because they are so easy to train and do anything you ask them to. They are beautiful and spirited, yet kind and extraordinarily gentle.
Posted By: Jenny
|
I have owned horses all of my life, starting with that first pony and prgressing through, American Saddlebred, Tennesse Walkers, Appaloosas, Paints and Quarter Horse. But now I own the breed I have always loved the most and that is Arabians. They not only have the beauty of their confirmation, thay also are loyal and quick to learn. Their "in your pocket" personality make them almost like a member of the family and the first sound I hear when I step outside in the morning is my Arabians telling me it time to eat.
Posted By: Sharion Dunfee

I do not really have a favorite, but I am beginning to fall in love with Arabians. They are so graceful. But if it's a horse, I love it!
Posted By: Robin
|
If its a horse I'll take it home and love it forever. I havnt met every breed yet so I just cant say. I own two 1/4 horses and an Arabian and won't trade them for the world. MFTs are awesome. I used to show them all over and NEVER had a bad exp. But still have to say I love them all!!!
Posted By: Kristen Echo Sonny & Parris

I would have to say that I am like Sue, I love all horses, but, there is one horse that I love the most! My Welsh x Dales gelding, Jet. He can turn on a sixpence, he is dependable in a crisis and he can turn his hoof to anything. I also am a great lover of the standardbred breed, they truly are wonderful to own. They combine brains, beauty, speed, grace and a rare temperance that you can rarely find in other hot-blooded horses. I think that we are lucky to be able to work and live with such tolerant, noble animals.

Arabians because they are so graceful and have good endurance and are very pretty , good show horses etc.

I LOVE the Hanoverians first of all. They are wonderful, gracefull, and BEAUTIFUL. They make some of the best eventers. I go for dressage so I am a hanoverians warmblood person all the way.

I had ridden quarters and Thoroughbreds when I was a teenager, and then did not get to ride for about 10 years. Then, I up and bought an Arabian-- And I think he's wonderful. Arabians are graceful, beautiful, and intelligent. I would'nt trade mine for anything.
Posted By: Karen
|
Peruvian/Paso Fino horses have the most wonderful ride and disposition of all the horses that I have owned and now this is my 18th yr to have been a breeder of these wonderful horses.
Posted By: Laura
|
I love Arabians, there so graceful and high spirited. They very pretty and Arabian foals are so cute!
Posted By: Sandra
|
Icelandics, and the biggest reason is that I've only ridden those horses. I also like to feel the difference in horses depending on between where the horses origins are from. Then nothing can be compared to sit a swimming horse. I could say more, but that's enough for now. "When the rider realizes that every mistake made is his fault, then he is starting to be a good rider." =)

I love all horse's in general. But I have to say the Arabian is top on my list. The Arabian horse is loyal, fast learners, and they try there best to be the best they can be.

I've owned both quarter horses and Arabs. I like quarter horses better because they are so loving(at least mine was!)if he could he would have curled up in my lap, I loved him so much but he wasn't as excitng as I would have liked. So I got an arab. I loved the ride, and she was always suprising me and making me laugh, but she wasn't extremely loving. After a while I just wanted to look into her eyes, or kiss her on the forehead without her throwing up her head at the slightest noise and breaking my jaw. I love them both anyway, for their good points and bad.

I love quarter horses!!! I currently have 4 horses 2 quarter horses, one Appendix bred quarter horse and one throughbred. The two you can always count on are the Quarter horses. They are so smart and responsive. They are generally not high strung but yet they have lots of speed and athletic ability! Here's to you Cowboy my 5 year gelding!!!

Well, I have a thoroughbred, an riding pony and a mystery breed horse. I love thoroughbreds, especially race horses. they are not as "hot" as they are made out to be and I haven't met 1 that I couldn;'t handle.
Posted By: Anna

I am addicted to tennessee walker x Arabians. I currently own 2. they have the spirit and showyness of the arabian, with the laid-back smoothness of the walker. the previous owner of one used to hunt with a rifle on him, so he is very steady, and that is what i love.
Posted By: anonymous

I own a Registered Quarter horse and a Tennessee Walker. I absoultley love both of them. They have wonderful personalities. I hunter jump my quarter and trail my easy riding walker!
Posted By: Gina

My fav breeds are any breeds that are level headed, fun 2 ride, and have a big heart. that basically means the QH gelding I ride.He is so level headed that nothing scares him(except for the first time i rode him he spooked but It was just a little hop to the side, nothing big),I love riding him cuz he has the right amount of stubborness in him to make me work hard, hence he's fun to ride, and he has a huge heart cuz he has to put up with diffrent riders(even ones who never rode a horse before). That's why I think QH are the best breed.
Posted By: Shannon
|
Thoroughbreds!!They have wonderful aditudes. I love how they trust you and are willing to do anyting, even if they aren't shure. Take mine for example, she listens to all I say and will even save me if I make a mistake.
Posted By: Stephanie

Quarter Horses all the way! They are such a safe ride. They can take you anywhere and they have such a big heart!! I own a QH and I will never give her up!

Friesians - Although I love all horses I would like to own a Friesian over all breeds! I like Friesians because they are absolutely gorgeous! There majestic black coats are very appealing to the eye! They also make terrific Dressage mounts and I love Dressage! I have met a few Friesian Stallions and they are so docile! I even got to sit on one of them and he was so gentle! :)

i don't really have a favorite breed but if i had 2 pick out of all of them i wouold have 2 say the Quarter Horse and the Appaloosa because a Quarter Horse can do anything it can do english or western ur probably thinking yea so can any other horse but they don't have the endurance 2 also be able 2 gallope a Quarter of a mile like a Thoroughbred can gallop a mile and a half but QH's also can barrel race and do all that other stuff 2 also the QH is good tempered(if it isn't torchered or any thing like that)but the reason why i like the appy is because there so pretty and they stick out and my whole family has a horse(my mom has 4 and my sisters have 2/one each)so when i get a horse i want it 2 be different from theres

I LOVE BOTH QUARTER HORSES. THEY ARE THE MOST SWEETEST ANIMALS ALIVE. YOU DON'T NEED TO SUPPLEMENT THEM OR FATTEN THEM UP. THEY EASY KEEPERS AND A BLAST TO RIDE. THEIR AN ALL AROUND HORSE THAT MAKES THEM THE MOST LIKEABLE BREED FOR ANY EVENT YOU DECIDE TO COMPETE IN. THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANION AND EASY TEMPERED.

Although all horses are beatiful, my heart lies with Thoroughbreds. They are so strong and powerful. As racers, they run like the wind and put up with so much. With speed like to other, bravery, loyalty, and agility of the arabian this breed is really one of a kind. They are truly amazing athletes a that can do anything! They are honestly a outstanding, irresistable breed that keeps on giving!

I LOVE ALL HORSES, AND ESPECIALLY THE BELGIAN DRAFT. I RECENTLY PURCHASED AN EIGHT MONTH OLD AND HE IS A BIG GENTLE GIANT WITH A GREAT DISPOSITION.I ALSO HAVE TWO PAINTS THAT I LOVE, BUT THEY HAVE VAIRED DISPOSITIONS; NOT AS EASY TO HANDLE.I ALSO HAVE A HALF MUSTANG/HALF PAINT, AND HE IS EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT AND GENTLE.

Well I have 4 horses, 2 big and 2 little ;-). I own an American Saddlebred and they are absolutely an amazing breed. They are curious, energetic, loving. I also own an Egytian Arabian mare and she is unbelievable as well, loyal, very attentive, likes to cuddle, AMAZING animal. And then there are my two minis, now how can anyone resist these little ones, they are ADORABLE and extremely affectionate, they follow you around like a dog, literally.

I have to say a paint- doesnt any one else just love them? this will be the first paint lover on here i guess! well, i love them because they are so beautiful, even the BS ones. they do everything, barrels, jumping, english western, driving, parades, everything!!!!!

Since my first horse, I have found Arabs to be the quickest learners and best companions. In gerneral though, any horse with a brain and good temperament is a good choice.

The one of a kind paint is my favorite. No two are alike and think they are like fine art.

I love them all. If I had my way I'd have one of each. Until then the Arabians are my passion. They are loving and loyal. I know ours would truely give thier life's for us. Courageous, yet so willing to learn and do. The most upsetting thing to me is when people that say "arabains are beautiful but crazy" please don't ever mistake the first domesticated horse's beauty and presence for ill manners. They are truely loving, responsive and obedient animals.

Well, I have 3 faves, QH's, Tb's, and arabs. They are all smart breeds and are each beautiful in their own way. They are good at almost anything you can train them in, and when you cross them they are even better!
Posted By: Audra

i have to say that TB is my fav but i can't buy one for my own since my mother said they should not be trusted. but i still love them.
Posted By: Alex

I love all horses, but my favorite breed now is the Lipizzan> I have the honor and blessing to have a beautiful stallion and mare and have had about 4 foals. Each with in your lap personaility and intelligence with a presence I have not experienced with other breeds. The stallions of this breed are extremely mild mannered and tractable with as light on their hooves that they don't wear out their shoes. They are as close to Pegasus as you can get on this earth with their Airs above the ground".

I like that breed just becasue it is my favorite!
Posted By: Angel Bundy

I like THOROUGHBREDS because they are beautiful and powerfull. They can out compete just about anything.

I love Appendizs(QH and TB) and Arabians cos I own one of each! :)
Posted By: Whitney

Australian Stock Horses No one else loves them. I have one and i can jump her, trail ride on the buckle, ride her bare back with a rope round her neck, hack, dressage and she tries hard for all of them !
Posted By: Kat
|
Appaloosa's because i have one and she is my bestest friend!!!!!! I look after her and she looks after me
Posted By: Sarah

I am a fan of quarter horses. My pampered reining mare has been exposed to many things such as flying coats, team penning, trails (she was a show horse first!) swimming in the river, etc.. and she takes it all in with a snort or two. I have always loved the quarter horse breed and I hope to continue on with them for another 50 years.
Posted By: Starr and Dinah

My favorite breed is a quarter/arab cross.I have one and she is the sweetest smartest horse I have ever met! She has the looks of an arab and the calm tempermant of a quarter horse!
Posted By: Becca

The Appaloosa,He such an all round horse, Beautiful and people reconize ya when ya riding one of these beautys!

I appreciate a good horse of any breed, but the Arabians suit me the best. Loyal, intelligent, loving, extremely beautiful and everything I could ever want in a horse.

Appy's have it all, color, brains, speed! I just love 'em

My favorite breed is the American Quariesian. The AQ isn't a new breed, just starting to gain notice. Especially since they are really popping up in the show arenas. You can learn more about them at http://www.quariesian.com/main.html We look forward to having you visit! Drop us an email and let us know what you think!

I like all breeds but I really love Quarter horses because they are an all around horse plus they are very patient and easy going.

Standardbred horses are just A1. Living in the Northern Territory can a very harsh enviroment for most horse breeds. The Standardbred has proven to me that he can withstand, heat, has the endurance of an arab, the stock ability of a quarter horse, the speed of a thoroughbred, and the power of a clysdale. Yet this breed is gentle, reliable and is very honest.
Posted By: rachel pearce

I believe all breeds have a place and respect their individual differences. Besides, life would be boring if everyone had the same type of horse and riding discpline. Personally, I love Quarter Horses!!!
Posted By: QH
|
Any thing that will do what you want is a good breed. I have a quarter horse that does what I want and my moms 1/2 appy and a 1/2 guarter and she is great but my barrel horse is a National Show Horse believe it or not and he is suppost to be a show horse because of his breed but he finds chasing barrels better and he beats a lot of horses
Posted By: Shawnee
|
I love all breeds of horses but one my favorites is the Tennessee Walking Horse. They have the gentlest temperament and their gaits are so smooth you could eat lunch on them.
Posted By: Jill
|
I love all horses in general but I own and love Morgans. I have found this breed to be the easiest to train by far and I have found Morgans to be not only your horse but your best friend. My geldings will do anything for me.
Posted By: Caitlin

my fav breed would have 2 be the TB.I ride a 13 yr old retired race horse in dressage. well not exactly because he wasn't all that fast so he turned into a pony horse. a pony horse is a horse who almost leads a racehorse after the race and brings him back to the barn. they do this because most racers are jumpy. so not all TB are hot and jumpy.
Posted By: TBlover

the sweet, calm, caring, intellegent, athletic, flexable, diligent, faithfull, levelheaded, cowsmart, trail/dressage/jumping/barrel/cutting/pleasure/reining/driving/roping/parade/show/companion/packing/exploring/best friend QUARTER HORSE.mine does tricks, trailrides, parades, barrels, cutting, etc. QUARTER HORSES ROCK!!!!!!!!
Posted By: Alison

I am a die hard fan of TB's, they have the connotation of being hot and jumpy, but I believe it is the owners who cause this. My TB knows her limits and she treats me wonderfully with just going blind in one eye. So adaptable!!

We own a TWH Gelding and a SSH gelding. Both have the smoothest gaits and dispositions to die for. You can't beat 'em.

I appreciate all good horses of any breed for their individual beauty and grace but I would have to say the PAINTS hold my heart.

Like many others have said, it's the horse, not the breed that matters. But of course there are always some breeds that appeal more than others. I love Shires and Clydesdales but I ADORE Norwegian Fjord Horses. They are strong, kind, tough, sweet, fast, gentle, stubborn - everything! Some people say they are boring because "they all look the same". I think it's the other way around, I think they are amazing because they are so similar but still they are all so unique, both in appearance and personality. I absolutely love these horses. They look like cuddly little teddy bears, but if you're doing something wrong you can be sure they'll let you know! http://www.angelfire.com/ego/smilla/photos/bw/bright.html
Posted By: Smilla

I love 'em all, but TBs, Warmbloods, and the becoming more popular Standardbreds are my favs! Since retraining TB's has become so popular, I think the Standardbreds will be next, and show they can shine off the track as well!

TENNESSEE WALKERS !!Their gait is unequalled by any other & it is inherited, which means it is not man made. They are extremely intelligent with a look all their own. I love the TWH head !! A flat shod horse is like riding on a magic carpet & a big lick performance horse is like riding a Power House. They are poetry in motion.

I like Appaloosa's because they are great alrounder's. I like Paso Fino's and Peruvian Paso's because of there smooth gait. I like MFT because the best horse I have ever had is one. I like Mustangs just because I admire them. I like Welsh Ponies because one pony that we once had was just PERFECT she did anything short of flying over the moon lol.
