Bob The "what" is this horse needs to be taught anytime your in their presents you are the boss. The head is turned to you to see "What" the boss wants! You are there for a reason and he is to find out what you want or to greet you respectfully. I'm pretty sure the friend did not get near this horse within 3 seconds to enforce the correction. On ground work the horse need to know when you or anyone addresses them they turn their head to you not their butt.

my partner went to get our horse from the field, i don't know why but my horse seemed to start playing around, and kick with his back legs nearly hurting him my partner, he was rather annoyed and hit him rather hard on his face. Was that a good thing to have done to my horse.
