I am an experienced horse handler and have worked with many young horses. i dont want to make a fool of myself by not being able to get on my horse at my pony club because i am so short, and i have to mount off the ground! what do i do!
You should take hold of the mane not the saddle. Use your left hand to pull down not across the horses back.The motion your lower body is doing is very much like going over a high jump; useing your knee to carry your hips over the horse. Pulling on the saddle to mount is a No NO!!
