Great article. Easy to read. One suggestion. How to find a pulse in the legs. Checking for laminitis and other injuries makes this pulse very important. Thanks.

Well organized and specific. it should be printed out and taped to the inside of your trailer and tack room doors.... or tattooed someplace easy to read. (Just kidding - about the tattooed part!)

Thanks for making such info available. We have about 80 head of horses and I am keeping this site for future refrence. We do alot of vet work our selves because it can get very expensive on this many horses! Thank again!

Do not only count the pulse for 15 seconds, count for a full minute. The horse's pulse is slow enough that it would be inaccurate to only count for 15 seconds and multiply by 4.
