I have always wondered if horse's coats turn gray with age. I don't mean changing color as a normal occurrence, but graying similar to humans. George

I have a colt that was born from a flea bitten gray ee based mare and a Ee Aa Amber Champagne Tobiano stallion. We know he is EE Aa Gg Ch. He was born a very dark chocolate brown and white with the charichteristic blue eyes of the champagne. We realised he had inhearedt the gray from his mom when he began to rappidly gray out. The question is....what color is he going to be when hes done graying? I have pics of him during all phases of his color changing up till current. I would love to have an idea, even if just basic, of what color he is gonna be. Completly grayed out, or maybe a darker chocolate gray? Thanks

Well I mostly know all the colors, but not steel gray and rose gray. those were new to me. Anyway I saw this site while looking for a piccy for my horse character (see URL below) and yeah, nice job. But I don't think I'll be using these pictures. I wanted a dapple gray but the dapples here were not really ... right.

I love dark greys with the white mane and tail. The contrast is so beautiful! It would be a bugger to have to keep the light greys clean though, because their coats show dirt so easily.

I have a foal that is turning into some sort of grey color and the only reason I knew he wasnt going to be a blue roan was because of his ears, they were turning white. This site really helped me figure things out and what color to reg. him as. Steel Gray.

The 4th horse of Revelation is called "pale". This site shows many colors that might qualify, but none that are actually called "pale" Could you comment? I put the question here because Zechariah 6:3 calls the 4th horse a dapple, except the King James calls it bay and grizzled. I would like to know more about these as well.

Gray horses are absolutely beautiful. I own a Rose Gray Quarter horse Appendix, and he's a wonderful two-year-old and a joy to work with. I never knew the name of his color until I found this site. Thanks for the information!

IAM FASCINATED BY GREY HORSES. If we bred a grey stallion to a buckskin mare, what colors are we likely to get and what are the chances of each?

On average, how old are horses when they lose their dapples? An answer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have the most awsome rose gray quarter horse. He is a very docile stallion. No one seems to have ever seen one as beautiful.

This is nice information on the gray and dapple colors. I would love to find out if there is a place where I can purchase a dapple, any suggestions?
