Appaloosa Coat Patterns

Hi, I am the owner of a 1 yr. 3 mos. old , rescued appy. She is wonderful! Although she doesn't look like any of the pictures I've found anywhere!? Her hooves are white(no streaks), she has pink flesh and a partial blue eye. You can see the sclera which is the only thing I have seen as appy. So, is she a true one? Thanx

Great information. I would like to add that appaloosa hoses also have hooves that are vertically striped.

i think that your website is really good. But I think that your pictures of the snowflake don't match up to what you're saying they look like.. My horse is a snowflake, so if you'd like a picture of her I'd love to give it to you. I have a great full body "picture perfect" picture of a snowflake:)

As an Appaloosa owner, I was pleased by the informative site. I really didn't know what colors "perlino" and "cremello" were either (even though these colors aren't appie colors) but I was very pleased to finally find out what those were! However, I have one question: Shouldn't the blanket appie on the right actually be a "snowcap". I have heard the very large encompassing blankets such as that called snowcaps. Just FYI.

i think your website is good but i think you could go more deapper into the Appaloosa and tell people more about the horse eg how it came around, when the Us army slaughtered them all nearly and how a group of breeders revived them useing some of the descendants of the indian horses. just an idear hope you dont mind lol thanks

Hello, I might have a picture of a snowflake bay horse, I am pretty sure that is what he is. Email me if you need it. It is full body minus the legs in a stall, pretty nice quality. The specks are very visible against his coat.
