Foals That Don't Get Colostrum

My mare had 3 foals that died due to Pemphigus Foliacias. All died at 2 mos of age. Can this be due to the mares age? Lack of foal passage transfer? or a certain bacteria in the soil, even tho all precautions were taken and the best mare care given. Tests were taken on foal and vets could find nothing. I researched forever to diagnose this as no vets here knew what it was.Blood tests were done to see if it had scid, and all tested negetive. The immune system on the foal was eating itself, and prednisone was suggested and given 2xdaily, on the last foal, it helped some but still died. Want to know more about this. Can you help?
